The Yukon Placer Secretariat released a new web mapping application call the Yukon Placer Atlas in May 2011.
The Placer Atlas is an online tool that provides information available in a Geographic Information System for fish and fish habitat, geology and mining, hydrology, resources, mining and land uses activities, mineral claims, First Nations Traditional Territories and Settlement Lands and the results of environmental monitoring. It is also a tool that placer miners can use when preparing project proposals and permit applications.
