I have updated the public Imagery map service used for ArcGIS Server mapping applications. All our GeoEye (Southern Lakes, Kondike, North Yukon Planning Region, and Herschel Island), orthophotos and Ikonos (White Gold) are now available in this imagery service. At this point, the primary one this affects right now is the Placer Atlas (http://mapservices.gov.yk.ca/PlacerAtlas).

  • Imagery: GeoEye and WorldView Available update

    by Nicole Parry | Nov 07, 2011

    For internal government users:

Good morning, in my email on Friday I mentioned that the WorldView and GeoEye image services will only work with ArcGIS 10. I want to clarify that this is true for the Image Service only, the source rasters can potentially be used in other software.

You can access the source imagery here:

Note: if you need prepared imagery, please check the 'Processed' folder. The 'Unprocessed' folder contains the raw imagery as it was received from the satellite provider.

     For internal government users:

Hello, I've just posted the WorldView and GeoEye (Klondike, Whitehorse (high accuracy), Southern Lakes, North Yukon Planning Region and Herschel Island) as an image service. You can load this by adding the GeoEye.lyr or WorldView.lyr file found at this location \\sdecsw\csw\layerfiles\imagery\ to your ArcMap project.

Please Note: this will only work with ArcGIS 10.

Please email Geomatics Yukon if you have any questions.
