Geomatics Yukon often provides corporate geomatics support to departmental projects within the Yukon Government. Departments may want to implement GIS within their unit, to build an operational data model for their spatial data, to create an operational environment, or to implement web mapping services or applications. As these types of activities generally build upon the Yukon Government's Corporate Spatial Data Infrastructure, Geomatics Yukon will work with the departments to meet their objectives.
Over the last few years, Geomatics Yukon has been working with departmental units to build an operational environment for spatial data. Energy, Mines & Resources Lands Branch and Mining Recorder have both completed operational data modeling projects. Geomatics Yukon is currently working on projects with the Transportation Division and the Yukon Geological Survey. A process review of the procedures to load and maintain data in both the CSW and Operational environments is underway in an attempt to improve our existing workflow.
